One of my favourite non-commercial projects ever. My client, Michaela requested a special occasion gift for her husband, Brendan. Something unique, Michaela insisted. We had worked before, firstly on a commercial illustration project for her Darwin, NT agency and then later on a private commission.
I digested the brief and responded a few days later with my concept which related to Brendan’s nickname of Wonderboy. With prototype approved, I set to writing a storyline focusing on Wonderboy, as he helps Northern Territory police clean up the city’s problem street gangs.
The result was a 64 page, Pop Art-styled cartoon strip, hard cover printed and housed in a bespoke presentation box. While the entire story relates in part to the couple’s personal journey I have permission to reproduce several frames for my portfolio.
